Transcendental Meditation (TM) is a simple, effortless meditation technique practised for 20 minutes twice a day. In Belgium, TM is taught by certified teachers in over 9 centres, as part of a recognised non-profit organisation. More than 400 scientific studies confirm benefits for stress, blood pressure, sleep, brain coherence and overall health. The course fee is income-dependent and includes lifelong support.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's life's work was to make meditation understandable and accessible to people today. He wanted to separate the technique from its mystique and demonstrate its value through the lens of modern science.
In the 1950s, he began teaching Transcendental Meditation. He spent years developing a careful and unambiguous method of teaching. He then committed himself to making TM available worldwide. Thousands of teachers were trained within a non-profit organisation that continues to this day to monitor the quality and authenticity of the technique.
During an information session (in person or online), you will receive a clear explanation of TM from a certified TM teacher.
You’ll understand what sets TM apart from other forms of meditation, how the technique works in practice, and what it can mean for you in your day-to-day life.

Short answer: no.
As with learning a musical instrument or a sport, personal guidance makes all the difference. You learn not only what you are doing, but above all how it works for you. That requires coordination, feedback and experience.
Transcendental Meditation is therefore always taught through personal instruction from a certified TM teacher. This makes learning easy, correct and sustainable in your daily life.
There is no other way to learn the authentic TM technique.
And to date, no research has shown that books, videos or alternatives produce the same effects as personally taught TM practice.
The TM technique enables your mind to transcend naturally, or to easily go within, to quieter and quieter levels of thinking, until you experience the quietest and most peaceful level of your own consciousness.
No problem at all. Unlike other forms of meditation, the TM technique does not involve concentration, control of the mind, contemplation or monitoring of thoughts. It is completely effortless.
The effectiveness of the TM technique is the same whether you believe it will work or are completely sceptical. This is because it automatically and effortlessly enables your active mind to reach a state of deep inner peace.
