How do I learn Transcendental Meditation?
As with learning a musical instrument or a sport, personal guidance makes all the difference. A good teacher not only shows you the technique, but also helps you to apply it correctly.
Transcendental Meditation is therefore always taught through personal instruction from a certified TM teacher. This guidance ensures a simple and intuitive learning experience, enabling you to learn the technique correctly and make it a sustainable practice.
There is no other way to learn the authentic TM technique. And there is no evidence that books, videos or alternatives produce the same effects as TM, as documented in published research.
What if I am sceptical?
Scepticism is not an obstacle to learning or practising Transcendental Meditation. The technique works just as well whether you are convinced or doubtful.
This is because TM does not rely on faith, concentration or mental effort. The technique allows the mind to automatically and effortlessly reach a state of deep inner peace.

TM course details
In order to provide each participant with proper guidance, Transcendental Meditation is taught exclusively by certified TM teachers. Your teacher will guide you through the entire learning process and will remain available for support afterwards.
This personalised and attentive support provides you with a solid foundation that will allow you to enjoy the benefits you have acquired for the rest of your life.
Session 1 – personalised instruction
On the first day, you will learn the basics of the TM technique and meditate for the first time. Then you will discuss your experience with your teacher, who will help you evaluate and refine the technique.
Sessions 2 to 4 – face-to-face or online classes
Each session includes meditation with your teacher, supplemented by additional explanations, discussions and comments. You will gain a clear understanding of what is important in the practice and how you can easily integrate TM into your daily life.
Topics covered include: how to know if you are meditating correctly, how the TM technique works, what the different experiences mean, and what you can expect from regular practice.
Most courses can be taken in person or remotely. The first session always takes place in person, at an MT centre or in a classroom.
