Transcendental Meditation:
A personalised path to
inner peace, clarity and wellbeing.

What is the Transcendental Meditation technique?

The MT technique is a very simple and effective way to enjoy inner peace, reduce stress and access your full inner potential. The practice is easy and enjoyable. Anyone can do it, sitting comfortably with their eyes closed for 20 minutes, twice a day.  Effortlessly.

TM is an easy-to-learn meditation technique taught individually by certified teachers. It is scientifically proven, and students receive lifetime support. Anyone can practise Transcendental Meditation, even if you think, "I don't know how to meditate." It works without concentration, without controlling the mind and without trying to stop your thoughts.

The TM technique is not...

TM is separate from religion or faith. It suits people with any philosophy of life, but also those who have no interest in such matters. The technique works regardless, even if you do not believe in it.

The TM technique differs from other forms of meditation, both in how you practise it and in what it does for your body and mind.

How is the TM technique different?

The technique of Transcendental Meditation works fundamentally differently from other forms of meditation. Many techniques keep the mind active on the surface, for example through concentration, attention or control. With TM, the opposite happens. During practice, mental activity naturally calms down. The mind follows a natural movement inward, without effort or control.

This method of meditation leads to a unique state of brain functioning. It supports the body and mind as a whole. It is perfectly measurable via EEG. Because TM is completely effortless, many people find it easier to learn and continue practising than other forms of meditation.

"TM expands consciousness and prepares the mind for each subsequent experience."

How does TM work?

"TM is a systematic technique that works automatically and effortlessly because it aligns with the natural responses of the body and mind."

The TM technique: a unique state of ‘alert tranquillity’.

Research over the past 55 years shows that Transcendental Meditation induces a special physiological state. The body enters a state of deep rest, while the mind remains alert and clear. This combination is not found in ordinary rest with closed eyes.

In this state, breathing slows down noticeably, blood flow to the brain increases and different areas of the brain become more cohesive. At the same time, effects occur that are the opposite of stress: lower cortisol levels, deep muscle relaxation and a clear decrease in stress-related substances in the blood.

Researchers describe this state as a fourth state of consciousness, alongside waking, sleeping and dreaming. It is often described as 'Alert Rest' or 'Transcendent Consciousness'. This state is unique: the body recovers at a deep level while the mind remains present and alert. This is the exceptional value of TM practice.

Scientifically substantiated

Transcendental Meditation is one of the most researched forms of meditation in the world. Since 1970, over 380 independent, peer-reviewed studies on the TM technique have been published. This is exceptional in the field of meditation research.

These studies demonstrate that TM not only contributes to mental clarity and emotional balance, but also to better physical health. Researchers have observed effects on stress regulation, brain function, energy and recovery, among other things.

“The body's stress system
— the fight-or-flight mechanism —
calms down thanks to TM and
restores its natural balance.”

What are the benefits
of the TM technique?

Transcendental Meditation brings deep rest to the body and mind. This rest helps to dissolve accumulated stress in the nervous system and supports clear and efficient brain function. After just a few minutes, many people experience greater freshness, mental clarity and a feeling of being able to cope again.
